As a make-up artist, you will no doubt have tips up your sleeve to create beautiful looks for your clients and wow them with your skills. To be successful as a make-up artist, there are some techniques that you need to master and ensure you are always in demand.

1. The perfect lip

Lips come in all shapes and sizes, but one thing that doesn’t go out of fashion is the desire for a beautiful red lip. However, the red lip can be a tricky technique to master. The secret is to find the perfect shade for your client, which takes into consideration the tone of their skin so that it complements them beautifully.

2. Achieving a flawless natural look

When many clients use a make-up artist for their wedding or a special occasion, they may ask for a natural look. A natural look enhances their features and gives them that fresh-faced look.

If you have been asked for this, you should aim to brighten their skin. When it comes to shades of eyeshadow, lip colour and blush, use colours that are slightly darker than their natural shade, and you will give them that beautiful natural look they have asked for.

3. Contouring

Contouring has become a must-have technique for make-up artists. It allows you to sculpt the face and show off your clients’ best features. Use darker shades to chisel and sculpt under the cheekbones, jawline and on each side of the nose.
